Geographic Solutions, under contract with the Region 2000 Workforce Investment Board, successfully implemented the new state-of-the-art Virtual OneStop Version 5.1 software in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Region 2000 Workforce Investment Board considered the Virtual OneStop Web-based software integral in enhancing services provided by the Region 2000 Career Center.
The Region 2000 Career Center recently relocated to larger offices and held a grand opening at the new facility on March 12, 2003. The Career Center, previously located at the Central Virginia Community College, moved to a new office at The Plaza in Lynchburg. Organized by Danny Inge, Executive Director of the Region 2000 Workforce Investment Board, the event was well-attended by local and regional business owners and government officials. According to Inge, the center is the first in the state that was built for the sole purpose of one-stop career center services.
The Region 2000 Career Center's spacious quarters contain computers, conference rooms, a computer lab, printers, and telephones for customer use. Center managers proudly displayed the computer technology areas and the new user-friendly Virtual OneStop software available via the Internet (region2000careercenter.org). Marc Esperanza, Geographic Solutions' project manager for the Virtual OneStop implementation in the region, demonstrated the advanced software to attendees at the event with positive response.
"Workforce investment boards continue to turn to Geographic Solutions for our Web-based software solutions for staff, individual, and employer services," said Paul Toomey, President of Geographic Solutions. "Our clients recognize the value of a user-friendly software package that combines an array of job seeker, staff, and employer services with the ability to easily meet performance requirements."
