Geographic Solutions recently welcomed over 130 Workforce Development professionals from throughout the United States to the 9th Annual Workforce Technology Conference in Clearwater Beach. This year’s attendee roster totaled 133, marking the largest attendance in conference history.
Attendees were welcomed to the area by City of Clearwater Mayor George Cretekos. The conference keynote speaker was author and motivational speaker, Scott Christopher. Mr. Christopher’s dynamic 90-minute presentation was warmly received by the conference attendees.
Conference attendees participated in live demonstrations of Geographic Solution’s workforce solutions, including Virtual OneStop®, Virtual LMI, Geographic Solutions Unemployment System (GUS), Reemployment Exchange (REX), as well as a ground-breaking Mobile App demonstration. Over 40 attendees also enjoyed a full day of pre-conference training on Virtual OneStop.
In addition to the informative sessions and highly-entertaining speakers, Geographic Solutions recognized several workforce boards and individuals during the conference’s Client Recognition Luncheon.
Mike Feerick, the CEO of ALISON Free Learning for Workplace Skills, was presented the prestigious ‘Outstanding Contribution to Workforce Development’ Award. ALISON has rapidly grown to have a presence in every country and has provided free online learning to over 100,000 graduates through their certificate and diploma programs.
Also, the Alabama Department of Economic/Community Affairs, Madera County (CA) Workforce Development Office, Mother Lode (CA) Workforce Investment Board, North Central Texas Workforce, and the San Benito County (CA) Workforce Investment Board were recognized for five years of dedicated service in workforce solutions.
Two clients were recognized for 10 years of service via their respective workforce solutions: Workforce Investment Board of Santa Cruz County (CA) and the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions.
